With so many of us now starting work remotely, there's added importance on engaging with your new hires and ensuring they feel welcomed into the company and its culture through a positive onboarding experience. One thing that really helps with all these areas is new starter gifts!

One of our valued clients is international expansion company, Unaterra. We work closely with their Head of Business Operations, Tom Owen.
We had a chat with him to find out what he thinks of his gifting experience with Boxlocal so far.
How did you come across Boxlocal and what made you choose us for your Corporate gifting?
I was looking for a tool to engage our team and new starters. UnaTerra was a remote working business before covid and in that environment engaging with new employees can be difficult. Employee engagement is key to our culture as it is with all businesses.
What do you use Boxlocal for?
We use them mainly for new employees, it’s instant engagement, on signing the offer letter with UnaTerra we send a box with our logo on the top and a personalised message from our CEO. We also use BoxLocal for Christmas hampers and to represent the southwest of England when we had our US Team visit.
What has the process been like for ordering?
Really easy, one of our team submits a simple order form and that is it. Bethan and Kate also aid me in suggesting what to include in the boxes.
How have the gifts been received?
Very well, the team enjoy getting them. They are packaged beautifully and look professional.
What impact has it had on your business?
They met the brief we were looking to fill. The team’s engagement with the business is better. This has had such an effect on one new team member that one picked UnaTerra over another company because “it showed we care about our employees”.
What do you most love about Boxlocal?
It represents local businesses on a platform they would not normally have, the sourcing and product range are fantastic. We would absolutely recommend to any other businesses out there.
